Rusty Boyd
Rusty Boyd has been a crocheter since the age of 9. At age 34, he took his first knitting class and was “hooked.” Since that time he has taught himself to knit lace, cables, stranded, mosaic and more. After attending his first Men’s Knitting Retreat, Rusty had his first pattern published by Skacel for their Simplicity Men’s Booklet. He has also been published by Love of Knitting, Love of Crochet, and self published on Ravelry. He is the Founder of the Southeast Men’s Knitting Retreat, which began in 2011 providing a weekend getaway for like minded male fiber enthusiasts. Rusty lives in Ahoskie, NC with his partner, Kevin, his daughter, Eleanor, a spinning wheel, 2 weaving looms, and a very large yarn stash.
Dorothea Pierce
Dorothea Pierce has been knitting for over fifty years and spinning for over thirty. Her absolute favorite thing to do, EVER, is teach people how to spin and knit. She has taught 3-day spinning workshops, five-minute knitting tutorials, and everything in between. She owns Yarn Seasons, a yarn shop in Hardy, Virginia and hosts the Skein Away Fiber Retreats at Smith Mountain Lake in March and August. In her free time (haha!) she knits, spins, weaves, and punches.

Donna Westermann
Donna Westermann has been playing with all things fiber for the past 16 years. She spins, knits and felts to her hearts content! Donna loves teaching needle and wet felting to new and experienced felters, of all ages. She has taught for local home school cooperatives, the Charlottesville Senior Center, yoga-fiber art retreats and numerous other fiber art venues.

Sara McCourt
Sara McCourt is a fiber artist with over 20 years of experience who began her spinning journey in 2006. In 2019, she completed the Olds College Master Spinner program and has since served as a distance instructor for the college and taught at Fiber Week in Alberta, Canada. Her primary artistic focus is working with raw wool, transforming fleeces into both into finished knitwear and woven textiles. Sara currently teaches fiber arts locally within the greater Tidewater area of Virginia and is a contributor to Ply magazine. Additionally, she recently launched Arborglyph Fiber Arts, where she hand-dyes non-superwash wool and yarn. Email Sarah.
